The next seminar of the Institute for Physical Problems was held on 03.10.2019.
At the seminar, lead researcher of the Institute, Baxtiyar Pashaev has made a report on “The effect of the basis of one to the structure of polyethylene glycols of various molecular mass in water solutions”.
It was investigated the structural properties of water-PEG-LiOH, NaOH, KOH in the temperature range 293.15-323.15 K and 0-0.001 mole fraction concentration of PEG. It was investigated PEG fractions with a molar mass 1000, 1500, 3000, 4000, 6000. Using the results of the experiment, it was studied the activation parameters of the viscous flow at given temperature range and concentration interval. The partial molar volumes of PEG were calculated, and the dependences of these parameters on the PEG concentration were investigated. It was found that PEG has a structural effect on water and water-LiOH, NaOH, KOH systems, but using of LiOH, NaOH, KOH are correspondingly weakened the structural effect of PEG. This is due to the destructive effects of LiOH, NaOH, KOH on the structure of water, correspondingly.
